The Member organizations of the Media Advocacy Coalition call on the Georgian government to explain the reasons for refusal of entry to Georgia of the Ukrainian journalists

According to the information spread on October 27, 2021, a Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon and his wife, editor Alesia Batsman were denied entry to Georgia. Dmitry Gordon connects the decision with his intention to meet with the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently in prison.

The Media Advocacy Coalition calls on the Government of Georgia to immediately clarify reasons for denying entry at the Georgian border and to respect the rights of media representatives to carry out their professional duties.
