The Media Advocacy Coalition demands timely investigation into the attack on TV Pirveli representatives

02 July 2021

The member organisations of the Media Advocacy Coalition appeal to the Interior Ministry of Georgia to conduct a prompt and effective investigation into the attack on the journalist and cameraman of TV Pirveli.

The video, released on 30 June 2021, shows that media representatives in Tsalka were attacked, verbally and physically assaulted and were denied the opportunity to carry out their professional duties.

Unfortunately, so far, the Ministry of Interior has not reacted immediately to such crimes. This, in a way, encourages the existing aggressive environment against the media.
