The Media Advocacy Coalition demands a proper response to Buba Chivadze’s case

Today, on April 5th, news emerged regarding the arrest of journalist Buba Chivadze and his removal from Kutaisi City Hall. The police forcibly arrested the Kutaisi Today editor inside the city hall, handcuffed him unconscious, and handed him over to the patrol police.

Per our information, the journalist is presently in a medical facility, but his state of health is uncertain.

We urge the Ministry of Internal Affairs to expeditiously disclose the particulars of the incident and promptly address the journalist’s detention and well-being.
